Schneider Modicon M340 is a modular PLC platform used for machine, process and infrastructure automation. The architecture is based on X80-style racks populated with BMX processor, power, analog, digital, communication and specialty modules connected through the local backplane. M340 systems support Ethernet and fieldbus communication, distributed I/O, configurable memory and modular expansion through supported rack arrangements. The controller executes IEC 61131-3 application logic, processes field signals, coordinates communications and provides the control layer between instrumentation, machines and supervisory systems.
