Collection: Digital Input Modules

Digital input modules connect discrete field devices to PLC, DCS, and remote I/O systems by detecting on or off electrical states and transferring them to the controller. Their architecture typically includes multiple input channels, signal conditioning, optical or galvanic isolation, status indication, filtering, and a backplane or network interface. Depending on the platform, modules may accept DC or AC field voltages and may provide channel diagnostics or configurable input behavior. They are used to monitor pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity switches, relay contacts, interlocks, alarms, and equipment status. Correct selection depends on input voltage, channel count, isolation arrangement, common configuration, terminal style, response time, and compatibility with the existing controller or I/O station.
