Baker Hughes’ Bently Nevada is partnering with Approtium to make hydrogen operations safer, more reliable, and more efficient

Baker Hughes has secured a contract with Approtium to implement Bently Nevada's advanced asset health monitoring technology across three hydrogen production plants in South Korea. This technology aims to enhance plant operations by providing early warning alerts and detailed machine diagnostics, which will support digitization of operations and ensure safer, more reliable, and efficient processes.

Approtium, a leader in hydrogen and liquefied CO2 manufacturing and distribution, operates a 60-kilometer hydrogen pipeline network, an extensive fleet of 250 high-pressure carriers, and two reformer plants that produce over 100,000 tons of hydrogen annually. As part of the agreement, Bently Nevada will deploy its Orbit 60 next-generation monitoring system, over 150 sensors, and the System 1 software. The installation process, which began in the second quarter of 2023, is expected to continue through the third quarter of the year.

James Kim, CEO of Approtium, emphasized the importance of digitizing operations to optimize the performance of their assets and ensure the safe and competitive delivery of hydrogen. He also expressed excitement about partnering with Bently Nevada to support the decarbonization efforts in South Korea’s energy and industrial sectors.

KH Hor, VP of Asia Pacific for Bently Nevada, highlighted the strong and successful partnership between the two companies, aiming to improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Approtium's hydrogen production operations through advanced monitoring solutions.

Baker Hughes, through its businesses like Bently Nevada, continues its commitment to decarbonizing energy and industry, supporting the creation of a sustainable and clean future. With over 60 years of expertise, Bently Nevada's innovative solutions increase safety, productivity, and operational reliability across industrial sectors, contributing to the global infrastructure's peace of mind.
