The Woodward 8237-1246 is a ProTech-GII overspeed protection system designed for steam, gas, and hydro turbines. It uses triple-modular-redundant (TMR) architecture with 2-out-of-3 voted relay logic to provide high-integrity overspeed and over-acceleration protection. The unit supports both high-voltage and low-voltage power ranges, offers fast trip response, and includes independent modules that can be replaced online without shutting down the turbine. The bulkhead-mount design and IP56 enclosure make it suitable for harsh industrial environments, including areas with corrosive gases.
